I had the pleasure of joining Judy Matejczyk on Transformation Tuesday to talk about InterCulturaling, and why I needed to create a verb for something so many of us do every day.

Growing up between a Cuban mother and a Puerto Rican father taught me that it’s often the small differences between similar cultures that cause the biggest misunderstandings. In our conversation, I share stories from a Cuban bakery and a Somali market in Kentucky, from my moves to Indiana and London, from raising two bilingual, bicultural kids in Austin, and about a homesick little boy who just “came for a hug.”
